Happy Valentine’s Day to all of my loves!! As many of you know, I have a tendency to over-celebrate the holidays, even relatively tiny ones, like Valentine’s Day. It’s something I get from my mom. She would always decorate the house in sparkling red hearts, hang up streamers, and give each of us kids aContinue reading “The BEST Vanilla Cupcakes with Strawberry Buttercream”
Christmas may be over, but in Kentucky, the winter months haven’t even started yet! Today, it’s a nice 60 degrees, one of the colder days so far this month, and it’s raining cats and dogs. So while it may not be cold enough for hot chocolate, it sure is dreary enough!
Eggnog is always a big holiday favorite in my family, and since I’m always looking for a treat that’ll make a splash, I was all over this! I originally saw this bread on the Sprinkle Bakes blog, and was absolutely determined to make it exactly as Heather had. It looked so fabulous, why mess withContinue reading “Cranberry Eggnog Bread”
I’m not sure if “Granbaum” is the actual name of these cookies (and after several Google searches, I think not), but they taste so good, I don’t think it really matters. In 2010, Shawn and Gus were invited to the Cinnamon Festival in the episode “Dual Spires.” The two stumble upon the world’s best cinnamon pie, which keeps popping up throughout the episode. I and several other Psych-o’s took the internet in search of this magical pie only to find that–wait for iiiiiiit–it didn’t exist! Until now.
Nothing says summer to me like lemon bars, and despite the frost I woke up to this morning, summer is definitely around the corner! Lemon bars have always been my favorite dessert, but the sugary filling can often be too much, especially in the summer heat. But I couldn’t let that keep me away fromContinue reading “Lemon Bar Cupcakes”
Magner’s differs from other hard ciders (like Angry Orchard) because it doesn’t have a harsh or bitter taste of alcohol, which can really muck up the apple flavor and absolutely ruins whatever dessert you bake it in. Don’t fret, my little demons—you can still taste the alcohol, and feel it, if you drink it.
What could be more appropriate for my first post than my favorite cupcake recipe: Devil’s Food Cake? I make this cake recipe every Halloween because the dark, deep flavor of the chocolate cake isn’t so sweet that you can’t handle all of the other tasty things that people are trying to get you to eat.Continue reading “Devil’s Food Cake”
